Wow thanks, using it now, sounds great. the avchd options is a brilliant idea!

Just used it, so there is no way to specify AVCHD media type? i just created a AVCHD with a sample file and file size of the dir came to over 10gig which isn't too helpful really. What would really make this feature useful is if it could automatically 'shrink' or put it onto a dual layer disc. Should i move this to suggestions? currently without having a bluray writer this option is of not much use as far as i can see, great addition though, thanks.
Could you explain what you mean by, "Removed file extension option, it is now set automatically (rename it manually if you want)."

Theres no way to split, unless you split the mkv first and run them both through mkv2vob.
Buy a 16gig memory stick, they are like $20.

The extension is set to mpg, except when xvid transcoding occurs, then its set to avi.

It was removed due to mpg works best with all streaming apps.

People choosing bad settings like avi for non xvid files, mp4 etc... was causing playback errors.
Hi !

you don't need a blu-ray writer. you can create an AVCHD disc with a normal DVD (4.7GB) or dual layer DVD (8GB). The main purpose for this (for me, anyway) is being able to mux in multiple audio streams (DTS included) and have selectable subtitles.

3r1c - so how are you getting around not having to re-encode to 1920x1080 or 1280x720?

Also, congrats on getting this out. Smile
I think he knows that, he says the output is 10GB so too much for a dual layer DVD.

I get around it by modifying the playlist to play a short 1 second clip of full black at full resolution before the movie.
well he says he can't see this feature being not much use.. but maybe he should've said the feature is not much use to him.

and there's a special way you have to burn the folder structure, right? UDF 2.5? there should be a wiki to keep track of these little details.

edit: oh wait, you have a popup window with that info. nm. Smile

haha that is so great. i'm going to try it now.

edit: OK I'm trying to make an AVCHD and don't want to mess this up.

Do I need to check "Always Encode Subtitles" if I just want to select subs that are in the mkv?
Hold mouse over options to get a description.
Short answer: It wont hurt to enable it.
