Oh I dint read you were using HQ.
There might be a small difference, but unlikely you will notice.
Try with a small 50-100mb sample file and see if you like it.
thanks....i am converting 1080p mkv with mpeg2 transcoding...and i also have the same file converted of planet earth in x264...i can tell your later..about result
sorry i just remember that i installed ..UBUNTU 8.10 in my PS3 yesterday ..but ps3 cant support NTFS external hard drive.. so my question is how can i split mkv file without converted for fat32..and is there any media player for ubuntu 8.10.. that can play MKV file without problem

PS3, doesn't have the processor power needed while on linux to play a 720p MKV, so don't even bother trying.

I think as 3r1c has stated that this will be enabled in the next version since he rusched the beta...

Size is no problem for me since I have 3x1TB disks.... but my Sony decoder sux when playing movies with high bitrate with AC3 sound for some reasons. My only way is to reencode the AC3 track and of course in the near future buy an HDMI-decoder and upgrade my entire home cinema.. but first I have to win the lottery...

AC3 downsampling does not work in this beta.
Its a bug, it just recompresses with same bitrate as the source.
I forgot to modify the encoding bitrate.
